IT ROADMAP

egssPort Web Application

Our new web application is available on the following link: webapp.egssis.com.

The existing egssPort users can use there username/password to login in the new webapplication, the user will have the same roles / databases in the new web tool as the old egssPort client.

This webtool is available on all latest modern browsers and will run on all platforms, later this year (as mentioned in our IT roadmap) we will release a mobile application.

New egssPort client executable (Q2)

Using the newly developed Web Application a new desktop client will be created. This one will also have the full look and feel of the Web Application. After a parallel test run this client will fully replace the existing client. Both applications can be used in parallel until the old client is removed.

A first release is expected in Q2.

Messaging AS2/AS4 (Q3)

Next to our current solutions for AS2/AS4 and other connectivity platforms we are exploring new tools and possibilities. This will increase our throughput, communication, logging and redundancy even more.

Azure Testing / Infrastructure and Architecture upgrades / Azure Service Fabric (microservices orchestrator) (Q3)

We will upgrade our infrastructure architecture to a clustering technology called Azure Service Fabric. This technology will allow us to achieve a higher level of several -ilities: availability, scalability and manageability. It is also in line with modern Micro Service Architectures, and easily to transform in any cloud based environment.

We are currently exploring the option of deploying our services, websites and client databases to Microsoft Azure. We are close to performing live tests for connectivity, logging and stability. Azure can provide a full fall back for our services and offers full redundancy on a much larger scale.

Multilingual Tool (Q3)

The current tools are only available in English. We will create a system where a user can choose his or her own language. The first languages to be supported will be German, French and Dutch. These can later be expanded.

The last chosen language will be the default for using the tool on later logins.

egssPort mobile app (Q4)

A new App will be developed for Android and iOS. This will contain basic functionality and messaging options. Basically the application a slimmed down version of the full application that can be used for monitoring.

IdentityServer 4 (Q3/4)

Our current identity provider (IdentityServer 3) will be upgraded to the new IdentityServer 4 system so that the newest supported oAuth and OpenId Connect flows can be provided to our API Clients

egssPort API Gateway (Q2/3/4)

Our public endpoint to our customers (API and web) will be provided by an API Gateway, this solution will provide transparant security, logging, etc for customers.  This will make it more easy to connect to Egssis API’s for our customers

Code base upgrade (Continuous) .NET CORE (Q3/Q4)

We are always creating features with the latest available technologies in mind. This year we are planning to upgrade our existing code base where needed to ensure we can use the latest features of our frameworks with speed, security and implementation ease in mind. This is a continuous process.

We are also always looking to improve our internal processes to ensure good communication, testing, logging and documentation.

Extending Security and User Management (Q3/Q4)

The release of egssPort 3.0.0 marked changes in the security features used in egssPort. E.g. user accounts are set to the users company email address, custom access and edit rights per user, and extra security auditing. In the upcoming releases of egssPort new security features will be added.

  • Log in using Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services
  • IP restrictions for certain logins and companies
  • Custom password policies and history restrictions
  • Extra 2-factor authentication options
